Greg Garrison of Just Hardwoods Flooring in Belmont and Elizabeth Atterberry,president of the Belmont Woman’s Club, have been named to the Board of Directors of the Belmont Chamber of Commerce.

Garrison was named to fill the unexpired term of Debbie McDowell of Belmont Abbey College, who has moved out of the area. Mrs. Atterberry was named to an ad hoc position formerly held by Teresa Rankin, who recently joined the Chamber staff.

“We’re fortunate to have two such highly qualified individuals join our board,” said Chamber President Paul Lowrance of McKenney Chrysler Jeep. “Greg and Liz both have volunteered countless hours on behalf of the Chamber, and it’s fitting that they now will help lead the Chamber through their service on the board.”

Garrison, a partner in Just Hardwoods Flooring and Design Center, has directed the Belmont Chamber’s successful golf tournaments for the past two years, and also chaired the Silent Auction Committee for the Chamber’s 2007 annual banquet.

Mrs. Atterberry has served the Chamber for more than two years as a volunteer, helping staff the office, coordinate events and direct other volunteers. She was honored at the annual banquet in January with the “Volunteer of the Year” award.

The Belmont Chamber Board of Directors consists of 15 voting members and eight ad hoc members representing community organizations and institutions.
