Belmont Chamber Annual Banquet -- January 24, 2008
Annual Banquet & Meeting Is Chamber Event Of The Year
Annual Banquet & Meeting Is Chamber Event Of The Year

The hottest ticket in town in January is to the Belmont Chamber’s Annual Banquet. Held for the past several years at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, the event always is a sellout. It’s a gala night of celebration, with food, fellowship and fun. The date for the next banquet is January 24, 2008.

The serious portion of the evening features remarks by a noted regional leader, presentation of Citizen of the Year and the Business of the Year awards and installation of new Belmont Chamber officers and directors. There’s also a large silent auction, with lots of great deals.

A committee led by Chamber President-elect Titus Workman of the Gaston Gazette, already is hard at work on plans for the next banquet. Watch the Chamber website this fall for banquet announcements including business sponsorship opportunities and ticket information.

Gaston Country Club will host the Belmont Chamber’s 3rd Annual Golf Tournament on June 19, 2008, after two very successful years at Cramer Mountain Country Club. The tournament committee chose to rotate the tournament to give players a chance to experience a variety of courses.

Under the leadership of Greg Garrison of Just Hardwoods Flooring in Belmont, the tournament has earned rave reviews in each of its first two years. Plans already are under way to make the 2008 tournament the best yet.

There will be great opportunities for business sponsorships. Click here for more details.

Phones in the Chamber office start ringing in July with questions about the Belmont Christmas Parade. That’s how seriously folks here take their parade, scheduled this year on Tuesday, December 4, at 4 p.m.

The Belmont Chamber coordinates the parade for the city. More than a hundred units are expected to participate this year. There are many ways to get involved:

  1. Promote your business or organization by renting a professionally decorated float
  2. Sponsor a marching band or other performing group
  3. Enter your own decorated vehicle or marking group in the parade.
  4. Just come out early, find a great viewing spot and enjoy the pageantry.
