Meet The Chamber Staff

Ted Hall

President

After more than 20 years in the newspaper business, including serving as editor of The Shelby Star for four years and publisher for nine, Ted was self-employed in management recruiting when he moved to Belmont in 2005 and began working part-time for the Chamber. The work quickly became a full-time passion. A life-long Tar Heel, he grew up in Rutherford County. He’s married to Freda Tyler Hall and they have two children, Jeremy Hall of Silver Spring, MD, and Allison Hall Chriscoe of Belmont, and a grandson Chase Chriscoe. (E-mail Ted)

Teresa O. Rankin

VP Administration, Member Services

After 15 years of Chamber experience with the Gaston Chamber of Commerce, Teresa in 2006 became the first executive director of First Things First, a nonprofit service organization in Gaston County. But her love for Chamber work was deep, and when the rapidly growing Belmont Chamber was ready to expand to a second full-time staff member, she joined the team in May, 2007. A Gaston County native, Teresa is deeply committed to volunteer service through her church, United Way and other community organizations. She is married to Mike Rankin and they have two sons, Ryan Rankin of Gastonia and Tyler Rankin of Raleigh. (E-mail Teresa)

Elizabeth Atterberry

Volunteer Coordinator

Elizabeth never has been paid a dime for her countless hours of work for the Chamber, and that's the way she wants it. But as an almost full-time volunteer, she is as essential to the success of the Chamber as any paid employee.  A Belmont resident for more than 35 years, she is president of the Belmont Woman’s Club and actively involved in many local church and civic organizations. Elizabeth is married to Belmont native Bob Atterberry, who also regularly volunteers for the Chamber as well as his church and other local organizations. (E-mail Liz)
